Consistency

A simple word but such a hard thing to follow through in reality for so many of us.

If we were consistent, we would have built up a strong habit. If we were consistent, we have the potential to achieve so much more, especially on things we are focusing on.

Take writing this blog as an example. You can see from the dates of my published posts that I don’t have a set regularity to my posts. I write and post whenever the inspiration comes.

While the reason for doing that (irregular posting) is based on being authentic, we can also train ourselves to be more creative under pressure, ie. to write in regular intervals. The key is that despite that, the writing can still be authentic.

But it will take consistent practice and repetitions to master it.

So why don’t I write consistently?

Maybe it is because this is just a side project for me, and I have other things that I put my focus into.

No one can judge what we want to focus on. Until the day I want to improve on the regularity of my writing, which takes honest planning and time management, I can only say that the lack of consistency is a personal decision.

The “secrets of life” are simple.

Goal + Passion + Consistency of Work + Honest Self-Review of Progress & Redirection (whenever necessary) = Success
