Unfortunately, we are all so busy in our lives and there are so many things that are grabbing our attention. Because of that you may not even think about finishing this page or browse through my humble blog posts where I share my inspirations and personal journey about Health, Happiness and Success.
Regardless, I want you to leave this place feeling at least better when you first landed.
Life is so hectic and demanding at times that we forget about the simple pleasures of life.
I want to share with you 3 easy steps I personally take to make the day a little brighter:
- I remind myself that I have control over how I react to everything.
Awareness is powerful. Once you know you can choose better, it liberates you. You will no longer be the victim of the situation but influencer of it.
- Take a breath, embrace gentleness
I take this out of my previous practice of Judo. Judo means the gentle way. Despite the explosiveness of the sport, it embraces gentleness and I cannot deny that gentleness is a great strength. You do not have to fight everything. It means to not resist, to give way or to be compliant. How does this help? It calms you down and it allows you to be more rational. There will be time where you need to act but when you are calm, you will be able to take the more rational approach.
There is no secret here. Many studies have shown that a simple act of smile can increase your feel-good chemicals in your brain. I personally love this because it has helped me through so many bad days or situations. The point is not to “cheat” yourself by smiling even though you don’t feel like doing it. Look at it this way, who is hurting more if you choose to continue the day sulking? You. How much does it take to smile? Nothing.
